From DTP to database publishing
“Een goed begin is het halve werk”. This is a Dutch saying, meaning, that if you have a good start you’ve already done half the work. This certainly applies to the graphic media industry. In order to acquire a high quality print production it is of paramount importance that the quality of input is at least as high as the quality of the production itself! Pre-media stands for all the activities that are necessary to realize an efficient and effective print production.
The activities of pre-media involve scanning, retouching images, preparing print files, lithography, DTP, high & low resolution proofing of images, layout, integration of language files and colour management. Activities such as database publishing where images, layout and text are automatically integrated in a graphic film from one or several databases, are also part of our pre-media. At Chevalier all these activities are concentrated in one of our business units called Digital Solutions, which is run by a team of experienced and knowledgeable staff.
